The banner is relatively small – nine times out of ten you’d drive past it without noticing it. The building to which it’s attached is not quite dilapidated, but it’s obviously in need of major improvements. The broken sign for the building’s previous occupant lets you know that it was a pizza restaurant, but apparently an unsuccessful one. But it’s the content of the banner, when you notice it, which will intrigue you.
“Sabor!” it screams, with flames rising behind the large font. Sabor is the Spanish and Portugese word for “flavor” – but it’s the text below which really makes you do a double-take as you drive by: “A Brazilian Steakhouse & Lounge” it reads.
Could it be that a real churrascaria is coming to Upstate New York? For now, it would appear so. A churrascaria is basically Brazilian barbecue, where the various meats are presented to you at your table, sliced on to your plate from long silver skewers.
