Frozen and Fabulous

May 24, 2011

We have on occasion mentioned products that we found to be delicious and worth buying, and last night we found another to add to the list. Normally frozen potatoes are mediocre at best – usually fries or tater tots come out soggy and bland. But Alexia’s waffle cut sweet potatoes are quite the opposite. They are lightly seasoned and retain that nice sweet potato taste, all in the fun form of waffle fries. We do recommend baking them for about 18 minutes and then broiling them for another 3 or 4 minutes to crisp them up. Nutritionally, they’re not bad at all – only 5 grams of fat and 130 calories per serving, plus they have a ton of vitamin A and are relatively low in sodium. Of course, making your own sweet potato fries from scratch is the preferred method, but when time is a factor, these are a great alternative. We will check out some of their other products and let you know if they are worth mentioning. Enjoy!
